At Damana Insurance, our office in Bahrain is currently looking for a BI Consultant.
Job Summary
As an integral member of our team, the BI Consultant will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end data lifecycle within our insurance company. This role involves managing data extraction and transformation using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS), overseeing the SAP IQ data warehouse, and designing and creating reports through universes. The consultant will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient data management and reporting processes that align with the unique company needs. Additionally, the role requires active collaboration with business stakeholders for requirements gathering and participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
Responsibilities
Data Management with BODS
Develop and implement data extraction and transformation processes tailored to the specific requirements of the insurance sector.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand insurance data intricacies and implement data quality measures.
Data Warehouse Management with SAP IQ
Optimize and manage the SAP IQ data warehouse, focusing on data integrity and scalability to support the insurance company’s dynamic data environment.
Design data models that align with insurance-specific reporting and analytics needs.
Report Creation through Universes
Design and maintain universes using SAP BusinessObjects Information Design Tool (IDT), customizing them to meet the reporting needs of an insurance organization.
Collaborate with the business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and develop user-friendly and effective reporting solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Gathering
Actively engage with business stakeholders to understand their reporting and analytics requirements.
Translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with the insurance industry’s specific demands.
Facilitate discussions and workshops to elicit and document detailed requirements.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Participate in UAT processes, collaborating with business users to validate that developed reports meet their expectations.
Address and resolve any issues identified during UAT promptly.
System Integration and Optimization
Ensure seamless integration with other modules and systems, specifically tailored to the insurance industry.
Identify and implement optimization strategies to enhance system performance for insurance data processing.
Documentation and Training
Document processes and solutions with a focus on company-specific considerations.
Provide training and support to end users on effective report usage and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in SAP BOBJ suite, including BODS, SAP IQ, and Information Design Tool.
In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, especially as they relate to insurance data.
Strong proficiency in database management.
Experience creating and optimizing SAP BusinessObjects universes and reports in an insurance context.
Preferred Skills
SAP BOBJ certification.
Insurance industry knowledge.
Knowledge of various SAP BOBJ data visualization tools.
